About Us

Cheshire Chord Company was formed in 1993 by a group of friends with a passion for singing. We attract ladies from all walks of life and ages from 16 upwards. Cheshire Chord Company is a member of LABBS (Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers). LABBS stages an annual convention where groups from all over the UK compete. We have been UK Champions 5 times within the association. We have also competed against the best in Europe; highlights include winning Gold in 2003 and Silver in 2009 at the European Barbershop Convention in Eindhoven Holland. Cheshire Chord Company continues to strive for excellence both in the UK and Europe.

We have competed in other national and international competitions including the Llangollen Eisteddfod, Ireland, Germany, Holland and Ohio, USA. Recent highlights have included performances at the London Palladium, the Radio One Christmas Party, the Radio Academy Gala Awards Dinner and a variety of corporate and charity events including Macmillan, St Rocco's Hospice, the Soroptimists and the Catenians Association.

Musical Director

Our Musical Director is Jo Braham. Jo joined the chorus in January 2011 and brings with her a passion for close harmony barbershop singing and a wealth of experience from her background in the barbershop world.

Featured in The Warrington Guardian Oct 2011 edition

THERE was true blue success for the Cheshire Chord Company at the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers Championship. The vibrant group, based in the town, scooped a silver medal after competing against ladies barbershop choruses from across the country at the event in Harrogate. The 39-strong group perform a variety of music including traditional close harmony, ballads, contemporary songs and songs from the shows.
