What an absolutely amazing weekend we had in Harrogate! Cheshire Chord Company are thrilled to be LABBS 2018 Champion Chorus and we look forward to our championship year!
Every chorus, across the country, works extremely hard over the year to bring their performances to the stage and this year we decided to bring something new to the stage; a culmination of 12 months of planning, development, collaboration and teamwork. A performance that every single member of CCC put their heart and soul into whilst having the most enjoyable time! Our time on stage this year was exhilarating and the audience response was amazing; something we’ll remember for a long time. 2018 has been a particularly special year for us as we are also celebrating our Silver Anniversary.
As always it was wonderful to meet up with friends old and new through our fabulous hobby. The range of stunning performances, exciting competitions, fringe events with GQ quartet all combined to make the weekend truly incredible.
Many congratulations to everyone that competed on the stage at Convention and especially to Crystal Chords and Spinnaker Chorus for their fabulous silver and bronze performances. A special congratulations must also go to Junction 14 Ladies A Cappella who won the Cheshire Chord Company trophy for the Director effecting most improvement in their chorus
Over the past year our journey has included some wonderful people who came through our doors to educate and inspire us: Rob Mance, Dale Kynaston, Dr Liz Garnett and Tara Daniels. Thanks also to Zac Booles for your collaboration of the amazing arrangement of Let Me Entertain You/Make ‘em Laugh/That’s Entertainment. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts in enabling us to make this dream come alive. A special thank you to LABBS for all the behind the scenes hard work in making the weekend possible and of course our fabulous friends and families that support us every week in our awesome hobby.
We have an exciting championship year ahead of us with new material to learn and a number of different events lined up. On December 13th we have our special Silver Anniversary Christmas concert “Silver Belles”. We will be performing locally, in Warrington, at St. Elphin’s church with special guests. We will be singing some of own repertoire along with some Christmas classics. Tickets can be found on our website. In March we are extremely excited to be heading off to Holland, representing LABBS at the Holland Harmony Convention 2019.
Thank you for your support and friendship, it means the world to us all. See you in 2019!

LABBS Convention may have been over, but the Cheshire Chord ladies have been busier than ever over the last few months.
Only two weeks after being awarded our LABBS silver medals, Tim Marron paid us a visit as part of his UK trip, for a very inspiring evening of coaching. It was then full steam ahead to Christmas, with a sing out at a local primary school’s Christmas fair, and a fundraising performance for Marie Curie in Chester town centre.
We rounded off a fantastic year with a Christmas Fair and Show for our friends and family. Guests were treated to a glass of mulled wine, mince pies, and a spot of shopping before we entertained them with some Christmas repertoire. We even got our audience to join in with a few Christmas carols and a lively rendition of the 12 Days of Christmas!
2018 is set to be an exciting year for Cheshire Chord Company as we mark our 25-year anniversary. Watch this space to see how we will be celebrating!

We always approach Convention with keen anticipation, but with an extra day and European guests this year, excitement levels were even higher!
We were thrilled to have two quartets from Cheshire Chord Company to cheer on in the semi-finals. We are so proud of Shockwave and Halo for their stunning performances!
Friday saw us preparing to take to the stage for the chorus competition. Our time on stage flew by (doesn't it always?!). It was an exhilarating experience, particularly for our seven new ladies! The warmth of the audience reaction following our package was immense!
The wait for results soon passed by immersing ourselves in fringe activities, and watching chorus performances. We were thrilled to be named LABBS silver medallists, and take 4th place in the European competition! Celebrations ran well into the early hours with a fantastic Afterglow, and lots of singing with our new European friends.
Congratulations to all medallists; in particular, White Rosettes, Crystal Chords, Amersham A Cappella, and Viva Acappella for fantastic performances! Finally, thank you to LABBS and EBC for all the hard work that went in to deliver such an amazing weekend! We can't wait to see what next year will bring.
